Importing from an Excel (XLSX) file
If your broker doesn't have a dedicated import, you can bulk-import transactions from a spreadsheet. Accounts and assets are created automatically from the file — there's no separate account-selection step.
- Go to Holdings and click Import XLSX.
- Step 1 — download the template: one sheet of transactions, one row per BUY / SELL / DEPOSIT / COUPON / etc., with sample rows and column docs inside.
- Step 2 — fill it in and upload the file (up to 5 MB).
- Click Import.
You'll see a summary of imported transactions, new accounts created, matched rows, and any duplicates skipped — plus details on any rows that were skipped.
Importing is a Pro feature — see Billing & subscription if you need to upgrade.
Tips
- Keep one row per transaction for the cleanest import — the template's sample rows show the expected format.
- Run a small test file first if you're unsure about column formatting — it's easier to fix a few rows than a few hundred.
- For stocks outside the US, fill the optional
exchangecolumn (LSE,Xetra,Euronext,Euronext Paris) or add a suffix to the ticker (VWRA.L). Left blank, Skarbfolio picks the listing that trades in the row's currency — and lists any ticker it had to choose for, so you can change the exchange if it guessed wrong.
