Interest on a cash balance
If a savings account or deposit pays interest, give its cash holding the rate and Skarbfolio shows the payouts to expect. Nothing is booked automatically — you record each payout when it arrives, so the balance always matches your bank's.
- In Holdings, open the cash row's menu (⋯) and choose Edit holding.
- Tick Interest on balance (in the mobile app, tap Interest on balance) and fill in:
- Rate, % a year — what your bank pays.
- Starts — the day the rate applies from.
- Payout — Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly.
- Day of month — when it's paid. A day past the end of a shorter month (31 in February) moves to that month's last day.
- Tax, % (optional) — what's withheld from each payout.
- Save. The row now shows the rate, e.g. "3.0% a year".
You can also give a rate straight away when adding cash: the Rate, % a year field there sets up monthly payouts on the day of the date you enter. Change the schedule later as above.
Recording a payout
The holding's own page has an Interest on balance card: the rate, what you've Received so far and the payout Expected next.
- Click Record interest.
- The transaction form opens as Interest, with the amount after tax and the date it was due filled in (today, if that's still ahead); the tax is under Tax withheld.
- Correct anything that differs from your statement and save.
Edit on the card changes the terms or turns interest off.
How the expected amount is worked out
Today's balance × the annual rate ÷ payouts a year, less tax. For example, 4,500 at 3% a year, paid monthly, is 11.25 before tax and 8.66 after 23% tax. It's an estimate on the current balance, not a statement — which is why you confirm each payout yourself.
Expected payouts also show under Upcoming income on Overview and on Income, where interest has its own color. Once you record a payout it moves from expected to received.
